Otto & sons became on the four primary U.S. beef suppliers for McDonald’s in the 1970s. In 1975, it became OSI Industries under Sheldon Lavin’s leadership. He became a partner that year. He is currently the CEO and chairman. He originally hired David McDonald as an intern after he graduate from Iowa State.
