The sleepy college town and capitol city of Florida, Tallahassee, has many things going for, not least of all is its top notch healthcare system. The non-profit Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare system, the largest in the city, is an acute-care system that includes the 772 bed Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, a psychiatric hospital, 22 physician practices, and several centers providing specialized services.
Centrally located in the heart of the city, the main hospital, as well as a satellite emergency center north of the city, is well positioned to manage the emergency needs of Tallahassee, and among its roster of talented professionals, is LSU graduate Dr. Eric Forsthoefel. Dr. Forsthoefel attended the University of Louisville Medical school before matriculating at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport, completing his residency there in 2012, prior to joining the Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare system.
Dr. Eric Forsthoefel utilizes his certification in emergency medicine, awarded by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, specializing in acute injuries, trauma, accident treatment, and generalized emergency care as a staff member for the emergency services department of the Tallahassee Memorial System. He sees the worst of the worst in healthcare emergencies and works diligently with his team to keep Tallahassee healthy and safe.
Dr Forsthoefel and the rest of the emergency department, totaling 26 emergency physicans in all, are charged with managing the care needs of the city, which includes the Florida state government, as well as two prominent university systems, the 40,000+ students of Florida State University and the 10,000 students of Florida Agriculture and Mechanical University. Additionally, Dr. Forsthoefel and the dedicated team of doctors treat patients from across the sunshine state’s panhandle region, and parts of southern Georgia.
Most visitors and residents of north Florida hope to avoid emergency services, but if the need arises, Dr. Eric Forsthoefel and the rest of the emergency services team at Tallahassee Memorial are trained and ready to help.
